Who we are

My Money Pots is a personal budgeting tool operated by Edd Grant Designs Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”). We are the data controller for the personal data processed through this service.

What data we collect

Account data

When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google OAuth. This is used to identify your account.

Financial data you provide

Income details, budget items, and household information that you enter into the application. This data is stored in our database and associated with your account.

Analytics data

If you consent to analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics 4 to collect anonymised usage data such as pages visited, features used, and general interaction patterns. See our Cookie Policy for details.

Calculator data

Data entered into our public calculators (LTD Calculator, Savings Calculator) is processed entirely in your browser and is not sent to our servers, unless you are signed in and choose to save the results to your profile.

How we use your data

  • To provide and maintain the budgeting service
  • To authenticate your account
  • To understand how the service is used and improve it (with your consent)

Lawful basis for processing

  • Contract: Processing your account and financial data is necessary to provide the service you signed up for.
  • Consent: Analytics cookies are only set with your explicit consent.
  • Legitimate interest: Basic operational logging and security.

Who we share data with

We use the following third-party services:

  • Google — Authentication (OAuth) and analytics (GA4, if consented)
  • Vercel — Application hosting
  • Neon — PostgreSQL database hosting

We do not sell your data to third parties. Data may be transferred outside the UK where these providers operate, subject to appropriate safeguards (Standard Contractual Clauses).

How long we keep your data

Your account and financial data is retained for as long as you have an active account. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' default retention settings (14 months).

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access a copy of your personal data
  • Rectify inaccurate data
  • Erase your data (“right to be forgotten”)
  • Restrict or object to processing
  • Data portability
  • Withdraw consent at any time (for analytics)

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the application.
